ABOUT ME

Growing up in the alleyways of Jaipur, Rajasthan. The photographer and documenter,

Hermann Rodrigues found himself moving to the City of Edinburgh some 30 years ago.

While he still tunes himself to the music of Northwest India, his passion for photography drives him to the plethora of South-Asian cultures practised here in Scotland. His prolific character of positivity, and an eye for the interesting has helped him amass more than 50,000 photographs of cross-culturing Asian personalities in this country.

He says his travels around Scotland empowered his self-started project of capturing the Scottish influence on Asian cultures. His work has been published and exhibited in many venues including Commonwealth Institute in London, the National Museums of Scotland, the National Libraries of Scotland and has been featured in many publications including The Times of India, BBC and the Wall Street Journal. And, not so long ago with Bashabi Fraser, CBE in a joint publication of photos and poems on migration and diaspora in 'Ragas & Reels' (Edinburgh: Luath Press, 2012).

Follow his blogs to see through his eyes the vibrant South Asian cultures celebrated here in Scotland.
